The ultimate guide to freshers week

Freshers week is a pretty daunting and busy week for anyone leaving the nest and heading off to Uni so the last thing you want to think about is what you’re going to wear. You may be living out of boxes and suitcases for the most part of your freshers week so we’re here to help with all your outfit suggestions for any event.

MOVING IN DAY

Moving in day is all about comfort because the chances are the day will start with you being squished in to your parents car along with the entire contents of your bedroom. When you arrive at your Uni halls there will be a lot of running up and down stairs to and from the car so for this you’re gonna need a comfy outfit with flat shoes.  You can’t be turning up to meet your new flat mates in your old gym clothes however, you have to make a good first impression and you want to look like you have it together.  Denim jeans are always a winner for those casj days – maybe team them with your fave slogan t shirt and trainers for an off-duty look. As soon as your parents leave it’s going to be a quick dash to the SU so maybe trade your trainers in for a heeled boot/sandal.

FIRST LECTURE

Unfortunately the first week of University isn’t all partying and getting to know your new flatmates – your first lecture will roll around pretty quickly. What an earth do you wear? It’s all about the layers when it comes to your Uni wardrobe, you need something comfy for the commute but also something that looks unreal. Something like our ‘Havana’ leopard jumpsuit would look amazing layered over a t-shirt with trainers.

FIRST NIGHT OUT

When in doubt always go for a bodysuit. You don’t want to be too dressy for the freshers nights out as you just know you’ll be presented with an ugly t-shirt to wear on your first bar crawl. This is why a bodysuit and mom jeans is always a good idea. If you’re not in to wearing jeans on a night out then go for an oversized shift dress and boots as this look is always a winner for throwing on straight after a lecture before heading to the nearest SU.
